This is the Turning Point.

Written By: Deanna Marie Battista

In light of the horrific tragedy that struck the hearts and wounded the minds of everyone who saw the video of an innocent man get shot yesterday on September 10th, 2025; I wanted to bring forth every ounce of grief, sadness, heartbreak, and tears that I have uncontrollably shed for Charlie Kirk in a way that he would have advocated for. By using your voice, especially for good. The searing sting of this loss is something that has shook this nation at its core. The core being the part of our society that still beholds humanity. It is unfortunately not a surprise that violence surrounding the innocent continues to rage on. However; the devil overplayed his hand with this one. The death of Charlie Kirk was and wasn’t one. He was taken from all of us and especially his family too soon. Yet his soul went straight to heaven after he was made into a martyr and heard the words “well done good and faithful servant” by Jesus Christ himself. His legacy has now been written in stone.

I’ve followed Charlie’s content over the last several years and was moved by his strength and honorable position on politics and mostly the nuclear family. Two things that struck me about this young man, was his fierce love for God and his faith, as well as his unwavering respect for those that both agreed and opposed him. Charlie is truly the example we should all follow. His fight for life and the value that family sustains is something Charlie spoke often about. It’s a disgrace to have this violence in our country. Just last month I wrote about the senseless murders of innocent children from the Catholic school in Minneapolis. At a certain point, we, not just as Americans; but as human beings that have unique and undeniable grace being created by God need to heed the warning; but mostly carry out the message. No more silence will define this war. This isn’t about right versus left, again, this is about sin vs saved. This is about right vs wrong. Just because you disagree with someone, does not mean their life is deemed less valuable than your own. This is egregious, yet the reality we all live in, including with the others that can't measure life or blood split unless it is their own. Someone voting differently than you doesn't make that person bleed less red. We have to band together and face this evil without fear. I would rather die a martyr than live as a coward. We have to fight for what we believe in, just like Charlie did.

No more acts of devilish sinisterism will go unpunished by our lawmakers and judges making up their own rules as they go along. No more dehumanization by political commenters will go unchecked within the right & appropriate channels including job terminations, or even legal prosecution. No more backlash to the one who thinks differently than you with physical harm being an imminent threat to you if they can't back up their argument. A 31 year old man was assassinated for being a kind, gentle soul willing to communicate. Willing to come to the table and talk to those who would otherwise avoid “the other side.” A wife was left widowed, and two little babies left without their Father to raise them. No more. This ends with Charlie, but really, it starts with him. It doesn't end until God calls all of his children home; until then and with the stepping stones Charlie founded…. we all have work to do.
