Micah Joseph Kim

Written By: Deanna Marie Battista

Through the power of the almighty God, he finds those broken, cut down and shorn, some through the abyss of worldly darkness or those who are preserved within the sphere of faith and holiness awaiting orders. He leads people and turns them into tools. These tools, that even I can relate to, are forged in holy fire to find his lost children and lead them to God; to find and keep them. Micah- the meaning of his name means “No one is like God.” Blessed be the name of the Lord who covers all his children and leads them all home. Through the amplitude of grief, through the sting of crucifixion; the worst day of loving someone both is and isn’t the day you lose them. Paul Kim is someone I’ve looked up to over the years. The story of his five year old little son being hospitalized due to catastrophic illness and brain injury has stirred many thoughts within so many. Mostly the absolute undeniable faith this Father has held, especially for his child. Through the many blessings, prayers and outpouring of tears for the recovery of a beautiful little boy, something miraculous has been uncovered. After watching Paul’s videos posted earlier today about the heartbreaking news of his young son’s passing, I am honored to have been a witness throughout this journey and unification of fellow Catholics and non-Catholics around all teaching, learning, and melding; forging in prayer for that of blessed Micah’s soul. To be able to witness this Father’s grief that has been welded into grace and be able to truly identify the fourth man in the fire. Not just a reminder for myself, but mostly to those who have not yet discerned to call Jesus Father yet. I thank you Paul from the bottom of my own healed by God heart, you offering your own scourged heart for us all to see Jesus through. I have been healed by our great physician myself, yet within the resurrection of holiness and the magnitude of his hand, I thank you for allowing our Father to continue his great works, first through you; and now through your beautiful son. This ministry of God calling upon his children to bring others to his face is the heaviest cross of all to carry; and yet within the beautifully tragic the holy spirit sets the fruits apart of the tools we are meant to pick up in addition to our cross and our Lord’s. The tool God bestowed upon this mustard seed soul of mine, was a pen. It’s been a gift; and more than all else it’s a sword. Dearest Paul, my fellow Catholic brother; your tool, your sword is your son. And by God, bless you and keep you as he will with Micah for all the souls that will be saved within this pathway.

I will pray for you, your family and intercede with your beautiful boy. Thank you for the gift that this brokenly beautiful world will not ever be able to pay back… Just as our Lord who gave us his son, as have you.
